Perth Glory have re-signed key midfielders Isobel Dalton and Georgia Cassidy ahead of the 2024-25 Liberty A-League season.
Cassidy, 19, turned heads in a stellar debut Liberty A-League season in which she made 19 appearances, earned a Young Footballer of the Year nomination and ended the campaign as Glory’s Young Player of the Season.
The CommBank Young Matilda is joined by experienced midfielder Dalton who also made 19 league appearances for Perth last season.
The 26-year-old earned the club’s Goal of the Season award in 2023-24 for a long-range wonder-strike against Canberra United.
Dalton and Cassidy re-signed for Perth in a busy week for the club. Izzy Foletta, Grace Johnston, Bella Wallhead and Mischa Anderson have all signed fresh contracts, while Tijan McKenna, Ischia Brooking, Ella Abdul-Massih and Sarah O’Donoghue have all joined Perth under new head coach Stephen Peters ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Peters has praised both Cassidy and Dalton as important returnees to the club.
“Georgia adapted so quickly to the step up in level from NPL to ALW and was one of the very best young midfielders in the competition last season,” he said.
“It’s fantastic to see another local WA player seizing her opportunity with her hometown club and we’re very excited to see Georgia continue to progress in 2024/25.
“Izzy was a stalwart in midfield for the club last term and brings an invaluable level of experience having played extensively both in England and here in Australia.
“She provides a composed presence in a key area of the pitch, plus a real goal threat with her long-range shooting and will continue to be an important player for us going forward.”
