Perth Glory have signed 21-year-old midfielder Emma Tovar ahead of the Ninja A-League 2025-26 season.
Tovar joins the club from Spanish top-flight side Valencia where she’s spent the past three seasons.
A midfielder capable of playing in central defence, Tovar brings versatility to the Glory squad and will arrive in Perth eager to use the Ninja A-League as a platform to press her case for continued international call-ups with the Philippines.

Tovar recently broke into the Filipinas squad under head coach Mark Torcaso, who previously led Western United in the Ninja A-League.
The new Glory signing explained it was Torcaso’s connection to current Glory coach Stephen Peters that led to her seizing an opportunity to join the Ninja A-League club.
“The opportunity actually came through the Philippines national team coach Mark Torcaso who gave me the connection to [Glory Head Coach] Stephen Peters and Perth Glory,” Tovar said.
“He spoke very highly about the league and the club and so that made me more excited to get in touch and get to know more about not only Perth Glory, but the A-League as well.
“Coming from Spain, I think the playing styles are very different and so I think not only am I going to learn a lot, I’m going to be able to take what I learned in Spain and bring it over to the A-League.
“I think the chemistry on and off the field is going to help a lot with us being successful in games and in the league.
“Finding our own rhythm and style of play is going to be really important and I think I can contribute to that and also learn a lot from the other girls.”

Tovar is the third new arrival in Perth ahead of the Ninja A-League 2025-26 season, joining Rola Badawiya and Bronte Trew in committing to the club.
Glory football director Stan Lazaridis says Tovar has “everything she needs to be a success” in the Ninja A-League.
“She’s very comfortable in possession and tenacious out of it, plus she brings that versatility in terms of being able to play in midfield or at the back,” Lazaridis said.
“Playing regularly at such a high level in Spain has provided her with invaluable experience and really helped her hone her technical ability.
“We are confident that Emma will have an important role to play for Glory this season.”
