Central Coast coach Paul Okon is adamant the Mariners outplayed Sydney FC despite shipping four goals at Allianz Stadium on Saturday.
The visitors controlled possession but were punished for defensive errors and could only manage two shots on goal in the 4-0 defeat.

“I think we were the better side and I challenge anyone to disagree with me,” Okon said.
“It’s the way want to play, to come here and dominate Sydney and play the way we want to. I’m happy with the team.
“Of course, if you’re going to make schoolboy errors against any opposition let alone a team that’s in-form … you’re going to concede goals.
“It’s an area we need to work on but that’s exactly what we’ll try to do.”
Despite taking only a point from their opening two matches, Okon has full faith in his young side’s ability to trouble opposition as they adapt to his possession-based plan.
“I don’t think the style of play cost us four goals tonight … I think we should have scored a couple of goals from it,” the former Young Socceroos coach said.
“We never gave up, we continued to play football and we will get better at it.
“I’m confident we will win football games.”
