Melbourne Victory have signed electric winger Nickoletta Flannery from Canberra United ahead of the 2024-25 Liberty A-League season.
The 25-year-old arrives in Victoria with 87 appearances for Canberra to her name accrued over eight seasons, having overcome an ACL tear that sidelined her for the entirety of the 2021-22 Liberty A-League season.
Flannery scored five goals for Canberra in 2023-24 to take her career tally to 15; now, the rapid attacker and former Young Matilda has signed for Jeff Hopkins’ Victory to begin “a new chapter” in Melbourne.
“I am very excited to be joining Melbourne Victory for the upcoming season and can’t wait to get started,” Flannery said.
“This is a new chapter and a pivotal move for me in my career. I’m incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to work towards lifting some silverware with Jeff and the team this season.”
“I’m looking forward to working hard and adding value to the already incredible team in the hope of achieving everything we set our minds to both collectively and individually this season.”
Flannery is Victory’s second new signing of the off-season, after the club confirmed former Adelaide United and Perth Glory forward Alana Jancevski’s arrival at the club.

Victory have re-signed 18 players to date, including Matildas star Alex Chidiac and captain Kayla Morrison, whilst Emma Checker (retired), Jamilla Rankin, Miranda Templeman, Jessika Nash, Kurea Okino and Tori Hansen have all departed the club.
Head coach Hopkins says Flannery’s experience in the competition makes the winger a valuable addition to the squad for season 2024-25.
“We’re delighted to be able to welcome Nicki to the squad for the upcoming season,” Hopkins said.
“With almost 100 A-League Women’s games under her belt, Nicki has been an honest and formidable opponent whilst playing at Canberra and we’re pleased to have her in Victory colours this season.
“Her addition will look to compliment our current forward third with her pace and eye for goal being important hallmarks for us to chase her signature.”
