Last season, Grozos made a career-high 27 A-Leagues appearance and score one goal for Rob Stanton’s Newcastle.

“Words can’t describe how much of an honour and privilege it is to captain this club for the upcoming season,” Grozos said ahead of Sunday’s season opener against Melbourne City at McDonald Jones Stadium, where kick-off is slated for 5pm (AEDT).

“Newcastle has become home for me. I love it here and I’ll leave absolutely nothing out on the field whilst I wear the armband for this club.”
