The opening two rounds of the 2023-24 Isuzu UTE A-League season took place in October – and Irankunda wasn’t the only young player to impress throughout the month.
Fellow vote-getters included Wellington goalkeeper Alex Paulsen, Perth Glory forward Stefan Colakovski, Western Sydney’s Nicolas Milanovic and Newcastle Jets midfielder Clayton Taylor.
Melbourne Victory midfielder Ryan Teague also polled strongly for his performances at his new club, as did Irankunda’s Reds teammate Joe Gauci, Mariners defender Nathan Paull and Wellington centre-back Finn Surman.
