After more than a decade playing in Germany with Eintracht Braunschweig, new Adelaide United midfielder Mirko Boland has set about winning trophies with his new club.
Boland, 31, spent the last nine-and-a-half years with German side Eintracht Braunschweig, accumulating 307 appearances.

In that time he helped the club win promotion from the third tier in Germany up to the Bundesliga, before the club was relegated back to 3.Bundesliga last season.
Now in the Hyundai A-League, the hard-working midfielder says he’s determined to taste glory with Mark Kurz’s outfit.
“I’m a winner. I want to win every game and that’s my goal and I think that’s the goals of the club,” Boland told Adelaide United’s official website.
“But how that’s possible we’ll see.
“I’m here to win every game and to give everything that I have and after that we’ll look at what we can achieve.”
Boland scored 29 goals and made 37 assists with the Lions after playing the majority of his youth football at MSV Duisburg.
It’s his first time in Australia and he revealed he spoke extensively with Kurz and former Red Daniel Adlung before committing to his two-year contract.
“Marco and Daniel told me a lot. They said it’s really fun to play here and it’s nice and I’m looking forward to it all,” Boland said.
“I played for my last club for 10 years and now it was time for a new step.
“It’s a big experience for me and I’m very happy about that and it’s another country!
Boland added: “I think I’m a mentality player. On the pitch I think the first thing that I have to do is to fight, to run, and then I want to play football.
“I want to bring the ball from the defence to the offence to create chances and, when it’s possible, to go into the box to make goals.”
Adelaide United host Central Coast Mariners in the Round of 32 of the FFA Cup 2018 on Wednesday, 1 August at Marden Sports Complex.
