Melbourne Victory have revealed their first new signing ahead of the 2023-24 Liberty A-League season, signing 22-year-old midfielder Rachel Lowe from Big Blue rivals Sydney FC.
Lowe joins Victory after an impressive season in Sky Blue, winning the Premiership and Championship while at times being utilised as a striker by her former side.
Her club career began at just 15 years of age at Western Sydney Wanderers before a crosstown switch to Sydney FC; Lowe has 74 A-League Women appearances to her name and 11 goals.
“I’m excited to be joining Melbourne Victory and I’m looking forward to the season ahead,” Lowe said.
“This is an exciting opportunity for me to join a team I have admired and respected from afar and the opportunity to work with (head coach Jeff Hopkins) and the team is something that drives me as a player to get the best out of me and help the team achieve the ultimate success.”

Lowe made her Matildas debut five years ago at the age of 17, joining the squad in Portugal for the 2018 Algarve Cup and making her international bow against China.
Victory boss Jeff Hopkins says Lowe’s versatility will be of immense value as he prepares to build off last season’s preliminary final finish.
“We’re extremely pleased to have Rachel join the team for the upcoming season,” Hopkins said.
“She is an incredible talent who can play anywhere in the forward and midfield thirds and has a vast range of experience at A-League Women’s level at such a young age.
“She has a drive and desire to win and that is the type of player we believe will complement our squad as we continue to build for the upcoming season.”
Lowe joins Kayla Morrison, Claudia Bunge, Beattie Goad, Jessika Nash and Miranda Templeman as the sixth player contracted to Victory ahead of the new campaign.
