Reigning Liberty A-League premiers Melbourne City have lured foundation member and Serbia international TJ Vlajnic back to the club.
Vlajnic returns to City for the 2024-25 campaign after leaving Western United following two seasons in Melbourne’s west.
The 33-year-old was a foundation member of the City women’s team who entered the A-Leagues in 2015 and she won four Championships and a pair of Premierships during her trophy-laden seven-year stint.

“Returning to Melbourne City feels like a full-circle moment,” Vlajnic said.
“City has always held a special place in my heart, it’s where I started my professional career and it’s a club which has given me so many opportunities, including my international career with Serbia.
“It feels right to come back home to the best club in Australia, and I can’t wait to wear the City colours again and do everything that I can to contribute towards more success.”
Vlajnic is the latest new signing for City, who are also preparing for the inaugural AFC Women’s Champions League.
The 2023-24 Grand Finalists have signed Alexia Apostolakis, Mariana Speckmaier, Malena Mieres, Emilia Murray and Lourdes Bosch.
“We are excited to welcome Tyla-Jay back to Melbourne City,” said head coach Michael Matricciani, who has replaced Dario Vidosic.
“She is a player with a strong connection to our club’s history and has proven time and again her quality on the pitch.
“Her versatility and experience will add great quality to our squad as we prepare for both the AFC Women’s Champions League and A-League Women’s competitions.”
