Team news

Head coach Michael Matricciani has named a strong starting XI to take on Taichung. Led by captain Rebekah Stott, the City lineup features in-form CommBank Matildas winger Holly McNamara who is accompanied in a star-studded attack by Mariana Speckmaier and Lourdes Bosch.

On top of City’s pursuit of glory in Asia, there’s an added financial incentive for the winners of the Women’s Champions League who will take home at least USD 1.3 million (roughly AUD $1.95 million).

Having already pocketed around $150,000 by qualifying for the group stage and an additional $120,000 with their quarter-final appearance, City players could be set to land $50,000 each should they go all the way.
