Melbourne City re-sign ‘talented’ duo ahead of ‘huge season’

Melbourne City have re-signed Caitlin Karic and Isabella Accardo as the Ninja A-League premiers prepare for the 2024-25 season and an historic AFC Women’s Champions League campaign.

Talented prospects Karic and Accardo return to City on one-year deals after featuring in the club’s Premiership-winning campaign last term.

Karic, 19, has scored two goals in 24 appearances since making her debut, while 18-year-old teammate Accardo has played 11 matches for the 2023-24 Grand Finallists.

Karic, who featured six times last season, said: “Although last season didn’t go as well as I’d hoped personally, it was still such an amazing experience to be part of a Premiership-winning squad.

“I’m really excited to be back at City and to have the chance to continue to develop as a footballer and learn from so many great players.”

Accardo, who played twice in 2023-24, added: “I have learnt so much in my time at Melbourne City and couldn’t imagine a better place to be to continue to grow as a player and person.

“It’s an exciting season coming up and I’ll be doing everything I can to push for as many minutes as possible.”
