Western United goalkeeper Chloe Lincoln and Melbourne City’s Laura Hughes also made their Matildas debuts as Australia and A-Leagues great Clare Polkinghorne – the most-capped player in Matildas history – played her final international match.

After making her debut in Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Chinese Taipei at AAMI Park, Davidson found the back of the net in her second appearance, though first start – opening the scoring in the sixth minute.

Matildas star Yallop doubled the lead five minutes later before 2024-25 Ninja A-League leading goalscorer Gielnik struck with her first international goal since August 2021.

The Ninja A-League’s all-time leading goalscorer Heyman made it 4-0 11 minutes into the second half, while Jets star Prior scored for the second time in as many matches in the 73rd minute.
