Champions Sydney FC travel to face Melbourne City in a rematch of the 2019/20 A-League Grand Final at AAMI Park on Tuesday night.
The Sky Blues defeated City 1-0 thanks to an extra-time goal scored by Rhyan Grant in the title decider last season.
The two teams meet for the first time since the Grand Final with Sydney occupying fifth spot on the A-League table and City lurking in tenth after a shaky start. Patrick Kisnorbo’s side lost 1-0 to Newcastle Jets in their last fixture on February 7 before the Victorian lockdown saw the club’s last two fixtures postponed.
With two wins and four losses produced from six games to date this season, City welcome the Sky Blues to AAMI Park buoyed by the imminent return of Socceroos striker Andrew Nabbout after his considerable absence from a hamstring injury sustained in Matchweek 1.
Sydney, meanwhile, will be hoping Bobô can get off the mark in his second stint at the club after going goalless in the Sky Blues’ 0-0 draw with Brisbane Roar earlier in Matchweek 9. It was the Brazilian striker’s first appearance since rejoining the club, and after a 30-minute cameo against the Roar Steve Corica could inject the spearhead into his side for an even longer stint against City.
