Match preview: Adelaide United v Brisbane Roar

Fireworks can be expected from the very first minute as Adelaide United host Brisbane Roar in the Hyundai A-League on Friday evening.

United boss Marco Kurz was particularly disappointed about his side’s start to their Round 5 clash at Wellington, even though the Reds came from behind to win 3-1.

Of particular concern to Kurz was United’s passive start to the match and for that reason, they should be on the front foot from kick-off in this clash.

Kurz’s words will strike a familiar tune with Roar fans, with coach John Aloisi making repeated mentions of his side’s slow starts in the current campaign.

The concession of early goals was becoming a frustrating trend for Brisbane supporters but it was one they stopped in Round 5, as Adam Taggart struck twice in a 2-0 win over Melbourne City.

Taggart has five goals in as many matches this season and has now struck 10 in his last eight Hyundai A-League fixtures.

Roar have won their past two against United and have won seven of their last 11 matches in South Australia.
