Newcastle Jets star Andrew Nabbout wants Saturday night’s shock 2-1 win over Perth Glory to be just the beginning of a productive holiday period.
Nabbout was instrumental in turning a seventh-minute deficit into Newcastle’s second win of the season, a result which lifts them to within two points of sixth.

“It’s massive but it’s just one step on to making that roll we need leading up to the new year,” Nabbout told Fox Sports.
“We aren’t looking to history, we just come in, play 90 minutes and try to stick to the gameplan as much as we can.
“It was quality from us. We stuck to our structure and our guns and we got the result.”
The impressive victory sees the Hunter side rise from bottom to seventh ahead of Friday night’s hosting of Adelaide United.
Despite not turning their weight of chances into a more comfortable victory, Nabbout applauded his side’s ability to pick Perth apart.
“We created countless opportunities and during the week our main goal was to play out and play through them,” Nabbout said.
“We exposed them in areas we knew we could.
“We hit the post a couple of times and (Liam Reddy) made a few unbelievable saves. On a different day they all fall for us.”
