Newcastle Jets centre-back Mark Natta has earned the January nomination for Isuzu UTE A-League Young Footballer of the Year.
Natta, 21, earned the nomination via a voting panel made up of Boris Seroshtan, Warren Grieve, Teo Pellizzeri, Simon Hill, Gabor Ganczer and Tony Vidmar.
The central defender has one goal to his name this season – and it was his first of his Isuzu UTE A-League career. In January he featured in four games for the Jets: defeats to Brisbane Roar, Sydney FC and Wellington Phoenix as well as a win over the Roar on January 23.
Natta is the fourth nominee for the award this season; Central Coast Mariners full-back Jacob Farrell collected the December nomination after Wellington Phoenix keeper Alex Paulsen was nominated in November, and Adelaide United’s Nestory Irankunda claimed the October nomination.
