Central Coast announce departure of treble-winning head coach Mark Jackson: Full details

Central Coast Mariners have announced the departure of Isuzu UTE A-League Championship-winning head coach Mark Jackson, who is set to pursue an opportunity abroad.

Jackson took the reins at the club from former Mariners head coach Nick Montgomery ahead of the 2023-24 campaign; Central Coast had just won the Isuzu UTE A-League Championship the season prior, but Jackson managed to achieve even more in his debut term at the helm, lifting both the Premiers Plate and Championship trophy – to go with the AFC Cup title in an historic trophy treble in Gosford.

The Englishman’s departure comes just one week before the start of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 campaign; the club’s assistant staff will lead training sessions in Jackson’s absence as the hunt for a new head coach begins, with the possibility of an interim coach being appointed in the meantime as an F3 Derby looms on October 19.

Mariners CEO Greg Brownlow said: “We are grateful to Mark for the commitment he’s shown during his time at the Mariners.

“He’s led the team with great passion and care for our players, and we wish him all the best for his next challenge internationally.”
