Mariners release young duo Majok and Shabow

Central Coast Mariners have confirmed youngsters Abraham Majok and Mario Shabow have left the club, effective immediately.

The pair have failed to break into Alen Stajcic’s plans during the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season, with the decision made to release the pair to pursue other opportunities.

Majok made two appearances for the club in the Hyundai A-League this season, both off the bench for a total of 26 minutes, while Shabow hasn’t featured at all.

“We are appreciative of the contribution Abraham and Mario have made to the club and wish them all the best for the future,” the Mariners said in a statement.

The news comes as the Mariners prepare for Friday night’s home clash against Melbourne City looking to avoid equalling an unwanted club record.

Stajcic’s side are currently on a nine-game losing run, one short of the 10-game streak they endured in the 2018/19 Season under Mike Mulvey.
