The Central Coast Mariners have today confirmed the departures of Andrew Hoole, Ben Kennedy, Jem Karacan and Aiden O’Neill following the conclusion of their contracts.
Mariners announced the quartet’s departure on their official Twitter account on Friday, adding: “We would like to thank Aiden, Jem, Ben and Andrew for their services to the club, and wish them all the best on their future endeavours.”

Former Newcastle ‘keeper Kennedy played his way into Mariners’ folklore last season when his under-pressure double penalty save away at the Jets – the second of which came eight minutes into injury-time – preserved an unlikely 3-2 win in new coach Alen Stajcic’s first game in charge.

Karacan and O’Neill both moved to Gosford from the UK, where they had each featured in the English Premier League, last season.
Born in Brisbane, 20-year-old midfielder O’Neill signed professional with EPL club Burnley in January 2016, making his debut against Liverpool the following August.
Two years later he joined Mariners on loan, and went on to score four goals in 23 games for the club before returning to his parent club.
Former Galatasaray, Bolton Wanderers and Millwall midfielder Karacan, 30, moved to Gosford in the January transfer window and was a stabilising force in the centre of the park, playing nine matches and scoring once – in that memorable triumph over the Jets.
Andrew Hoole, who has rejoined his junior club Broadmeadow Magic in the NPL, proved himself something of a dead-ball specialist last term.
He scored four goals in 23 games for the club in 2018/19, including two outstanding free-kicks in the Round 17 clash with Melbourne Victory.
