Macarthur FC midfielder Kristian Popovic will miss the entire 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season due to a knee injury.
Popovic injured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) at training and is now facing an extended stint on the sidelines.
The 22-year-old is the son of former Melbourne Victory head coach and Socceroos great Tony Popovic.

Kristian Popovic made 10 A-Leagues appearances for Macarthur last season, and 12 across all competitions as the Bulls finished fifth and reached the AFC Cup Zonal finals.

Mile Sterjovski’s Macarthur overcame NPL ACT outfit O’Connor Knights 2-1 in the Australia Cup Round of 32 on Tuesday night.
So far, the Bulls have signed former Sydney FC captain Luke Brattan, ex-Melbourne City loanee Marin Jakoliš, Liam Rose, Socceroo Chris Ikonomidis and Joshua Damevski.
Ariath Piol (2025-26), Alexander Robinson (2025-26) and Walter Scott (2024-25) have re-signed, while Raphael Borges Rodrigues (Coventry City), Ali Auglah, Jake McGing (retired), Charles M’Mombwa, Daniel De Silva, Danijel Nizic, Jerry Skotadis, Jesper Webber, Kearyn Baccus, Matthew Millar, Tommy Smith, Ulises Davila and Lachlan Rose have departed.
