Western United defender Leo Lacroix has received a two-match ban from Football Australia’s Match Review Panel, for a straight red card offence in Round 7 pf the Isuzu UTE A-League season.
The FA MRP met on Monday, December 12 to consider the incident which occurred in the 97th minute of Western’s 2-1 loss to Perth at Macedonia Park in Round 7, when Lacroix caught Perth Glory’s Matt Hatch with a high arm.
The MRP determined Lacroix committed the offence of “assault on a player (e.g. violent conduct when not challenging for the ball) or against any other person other than a match official, including attempted assault”. The MRP handed Lacroix the minimum sanction of two matches.
Lacroix has until 2:00pm AEDT on Tuesday, 13 December 2022 to advise Football Australia whether he wishes to appeal the two (2) match sanction proposed by the MRP.
