He’s still targetting up to a dozen playing recruits for the new season but Marco Kurz has added to his Melbourne Victory coaching staff ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
Victory confirmed on Wednesday that Englishman Tom Fawdry has joined the club as their new goalkeeper coach for the next two seasons.
The 32-year-old, from Surrey in England, only moved to Australia in 2018 to take up a role with Brisbane Roar.
But he’s now joined Kurz’s Victory staff ahead of the club’s FFA Cup 2019 Round of 32 clash against Newcastle Jets at AAMI Park tonight.
“It’s an honour to join such a prestigious club and I’m extremely excited to work with two very experienced senior goalkeepers,” said Fawdry on Victory’s official website.

“I intend to create both a positive and challenging working environment for the goalkeepers and contribute to opening up a pathway for young goalkeepers at Victory.”
Fawdry will work closely with Victory’s Hyundai A-League glovemen Lawrence Thomas, Matthew Acton and youngster Matthew Sutton.
He brings plenty of experience to the role, having previously worked at Charlton Athletic and Portsmouth in his native country.
