An under-strength Adelaide United struck late through 18-year-old substitute Apostolos Stamatelopoulos to earn an entertaining 1-1 draw with Western Sydney Wanderers on Wednesday night.
The result continued Wanderers’ poor run at ANZ Stadium, with Josep Gombau’s side only winning two of nine matches at the venue (L4 D3).
Meanwhile, Adelaide snapped a remarkable run of results in which they had failed to record a draw since Round 3 (2-2 v Melbourne Victory).
Prior to Wednesday night, the Reds had secured five wins and six draws in their past 11 matches.
