Jets sign New Zealand international ‘ready to explode’ in the Ninja A-League

Newcastle Jets have signed New Zealand international striker Kelli Brown ahead of the Ninja A-League 2025-26 season.

The 24-year-old Football Fern arrives at the Jets from Perth Glory where she bagged five goals and two assists in 11 appearances in 2024-25.

Capped four times at senior level, the New Zealand international is raring to go ahead of a new beginning at her third Ninja A-League club, following stints at Glory and Wellington Phoenix.

“I’m stoked to be part of the Newcastle Jets this season,” Brown said.

“I can’t wait to see what Newcastle is all about.  I’ve heard about how passionate the Newcastle fans are and I am looking forward to playing football in such a cool place. Working with Stephen (head coach Stephen Hoyle) is also an exciting opportunity that I’m really looking forward to.”

Brown is Jets head coach Hoyle’s third signing of the off-season following the arrival of goalkeepers Anna Leat and Georgia Ritchie in Newcastle.

Hoyle says Brown is primed for a breakout season in the Ninja A-League as she arrives at the club.

“Kelli is a natural goal-scorer with strong physical capabilities,” Hoyle said.

“After five goals last season for Perth, she is ready to explode at A-League level. All we need to do is light the match.”
