Olyroos forward Keegan Jelacic is set to remain at Brisbane Roar for the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season after signing a 12-month loan extension from Belgian Pro League club K.A.A Gent.
Born in Queensland, Jelacic made his Isuzu UTE A-League debut for Brisbane in 2021 and returned to the club for a second stint in January of 2024 on loan from Gent.
Jelacic had earned the move to Belgium off the back of a sparkling season for Perth Glory in 2022-23 but after electing to return to Brisbane for the second half of last season, has extended with the Roar and has expressed his desire to help the club finish inside the top six on the Isuzu UTE A-League table next season.
“I’m happy to have extended my loan to continue playing at the club that gave me my A-League debut. I’m looking forward to another season in Brisbane and hopefully I can help bring some success back to the club,” Jelacic said.
“It’s been great to be back with the boys again for pre-season. I want to help the team have a big season and definitely push into that top six.”
Jelacic spent two seasons in the Roar youth set up prior to making his senior debut for the club in 2021. He’s represented the Olyroos six times and was part of the Australia squad at the 2024 U23 Asian Cup.
The 21-year-old is Brisbane’s seventh signing of the off-season to date, along with Harry Van Der Saag, Ben Warland, Marcus Ferkranus, Hosine Bility, Ben Halloran and Walid Shour (Al-Ahed).
