Juric speechless after wonder goal

Tomi Juric could hardly explain the feeling after his sensational goal put the Foxtel A-League All Stars within reach of a famous win against Juventus on Sunday night in a game he says the local boys were the better side.

Juric, a second half substitute, smashed home a brilliant goal to put the All Stars ahead late in the game.

The side representing the Hyundai A-League couldn’t hang on with two late goals from Pogba and Pepe sealing a 3-2 win for the reigning Serie A champions.

But that couldn’t wipe the smile off the Wanderers’ striker’s face after the game, even if the 23-year-old was struggling to find words for how it felt.

“I can’t … it’s hard to describe. Just very, very happy…”

Juric profited from a defensive error and was put through deftly by Gui Finkler before unleashing a thunderbolt past Juventus substitute keeper Marco Storari to put the All Stars 2-1 up.

Tomi Juric fires home against Juventus after just being brought on as a substitute.

“Definitely it’s something that I’m going to remember for a very long time.

“Juventus is a big name, the history of the club, but tonight I thought we were the better side.

“Which really shows the direction football is going in Australia and one I’m really proud to be a part of.

“I’m sure bigger things are to come [for Australian football].”

It ends a week in which the young striker joined the camp with a slight injury and ended on a high with a cracking goal.

Not to mention playing alongside a man he’s previously battled in Sydney derbies.

“It’s an experience that will stay with me a long time. I’m sure I’ve learnt a lot from this in a short period.

“Little words of advice that he [Del Piero] has given to me and the team.

“And to top it off tonight with that performance all of Australia should be proud of that.”
