33 goals in TWO games seal Asian Cup spot for Ninja A-League rising stars

The CommBank Junior Matildas qualified for the 2026 AFC Under-17 Women’s Asian Cup with an emphatic 11-0 demolition of Singapore in tournament qualifying.

The Junior Matildas won the first of their three qualification fixtures 22-0 against North Mariana Islands on Monday and took their two-game goal tally to 11 against Singapore to seal a spot at the continental tournament, set to be staged in China next year.

The Australia squad, featuring 13 rising stars of the Ninja A-League, dominated Singapore in their second qualification fixture with Theodora Mouithys Mickalad scoring four goals in the first 20 minutes of the contest.

Melbourne City midfielder Izabella Rako scored a second-half hat-trick while her City teammate Keira Sarris joined Sydney FC’s Claire Corbett (Sydney FC) and Willa Pearson on the scoresheet.

The 11-0 result sealed top spot of Group E for Australia as the Junior Matildas qualified for the Under-17 Women’s Asian Cup – a tournament that serves as an official pathway to the Under-17 Women’s World Cup in 2026.
