Central Coast Mariners midfielder Josh Nisbet has claimed the Johnny Warren Medal for the best player in the Isuzu UTE A-League after an outstanding 2023-24 campaign.
Nisbet was awarded the Isuzu UTE A-League’s most coveted individual prize at full-time of Saturday’s Grand Final between the Mariners and Melbourne Victory, which the Mariners won 3-1 in an extra-time thriller.
Nisbet was outstanding for the Mariners in 2023-24. He registered a league-high nine assists through the regular season and scored three goals – a career-high.
His form in the Isuzu UTE A-League led to the first Socceroos call-up of his career, and his international debut in March against Lebanon.

Nisbet’s name will now forever sit alongside those of the greats who have claimed the prestigious honour, dating back to 1990 when the medal was first awarded in the National Soccer League.
The Johnny Warren Medal voting occurs throughout the season, and panel members vote in preference for their top players in each Isuzu UTE A-League fixture.
The votes are then accrued to crown the Johnny Warren Medalist; Nisbet finished on top of the leaderboard with 36 votes, six ahead of Melbourne Victory striker Bruno Fornaroli (29 votes) in second, and Kosta Barbarouses (28 votes) in third.
