Western Sydney star departs after one season in Wanderland

Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed midfielder Jorrit Hendrix has departed the club at the conclusion of his Isuzu UTE A-League contract.

The Dutch midfielder made 20 appearances for the Wanderers throughout his sole season at the club, notching one goal and two assists, and showed his versatility under former Wanderers coach Marko Rudan operating in both central midfield and central defence throughout the 2023-24 campaign.

Hendrix, 29, is the ninth player to leave the club following a seventh-placed finish in 2023-24, along with Daniel Margush, Sonny Kittel, Valentino Yuel, Doni Grdić, Nathanael BlairDylan Pierias, Marcelo and Adam Bugarija.

The club is yet to confirm a new arrival ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, but have confirmed former Perth Glory head coach Alen Stajcic as the new man in charge after Rudan’s exit.
