Wanderers sign NPL Grand Final hero after 18-goal season: ‘He has untapped potential’

Western Sydney Wanderers have signed striker James Temelkovski ahead of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.

The 26-year-old joins the Wanderers after an 18-goal season at NPLM NSW club Marconi Stallions.

Temelkovski’s step up to the Isuzu UTE A-League comes just days after he scored the opening goal and was named man of the match in Marconi’s NPLM NSW Grand Final win over Rockdale Ilinden.

Temelkovski makes the jump to the Isuzu UTE A-League as part of an exciting Wanderers squad under new coach Alen Stajcic which last week was bolstered by the arrival of Spanish superstar and FIFA Men’s World Cup winner Juan Mata.

“I’m very happy to be here, I was offered a great opportunity by the coaches and I want to repay the club for believing in me,” said Temelkovski.

“I hope to bring value to the club and my time in the National Premier League has taught me the importance of hard-work, discipline and patience.

“I would like to thank my family and my manager for believing in me. I would also like to thank the Western Sydney Wanderers for welcoming me to their club.”

Temelkovski is Western Sydney’s sixth new signing of the off-season alongside Mata, Dean Pelekanos, Bozhidar KraevJeong Tae-wook (loan) and Jordan Holmes.

Stajcic believes his new striker can make a serious impact in the Isuzu UTE A-League this season.

“James has shown an immense desire and dedication to his craft over the last few years in various NPL leagues across Australia,” Stajcic said.

“He has untapped potential as a goalscoring threat and fully deserves an opportunity at the A-Leagues level.”
