New signing James Troisi is included in the extended squad, along with all 11 of John Aloisi’s starters from last season’s Grand Final. Nikolai Topor-Stanley is back amongst it after missing the finals, whilst Alessandro Diamanti remains a notable absentee from the squad as he continues his return to full fitness.
Fantasy tip: Aleksandar Prijović (FWD – $367k) to continue his sublime finals form in Round 1. He scored once in last season’s Grand Final (and insists City’s own goal should have been credited to him as well) to clinch the Joe Marston Medal in a 2-0 win.

Fantasy tip: Western managed to throw a blanket over City’s star-studded attack in last season’s Grand Final. Should the same occur in the season-opener, opting for a tried and tested City defender in your squad may be a safer fantasy bet.
