International Women’s Day clash at Coopers Stadium to be followed by Matildas Asian Cup Quarter Final Watch Party

Adelaide United will celebrate International Women’s Day with a special standalone Ninja A-League clash against Perth Glory at Coopers Stadium on Friday 13 March.

The match will unite the South Australian football community in a celebration of women’s football, before fans are invited to stay on after the final whistle for a Matildas AFC Women’s Asian Cup Quarter Final Watch Party, proudly presented by the A-Leagues and Adelaide United.

With the final whistle and kick-off times almost overlapping, Reds fans will be able to cheer on the CommBank Matildas from their seats, with the huge Women’s Asian Cup Quarter Final against DPR Korea broadcast live and loud on the big screen following the conclusion of the Ninja A-League top six clash.

The initiative creates a unique double-header experience for supporters, seamlessly connecting the domestic and international women’s game and giving fans the opportunity to support both Adelaide United and the Matildas in the one stadium, on the same night.

Fans attending the Ninja A-League fixture will be encouraged to remain in the stadium following the match as Coopers Stadium transforms into a Matildas Watch Party, with supporters invited to stay in the stands and watch Australia’s Quarter Final together.

The evening will also continue the celebration of women’s football across the stadium, with fan activities and giveaways continuing throughout the watch party as the South Australian football community comes together to support the Tillies.

With clubs, families and fans from across the state already expected to attend the International Women’s Day fixture, the Matildas Watch Party provides the perfect opportunity to keep the energy going and be part of a memorable night of football at Coopers Stadium.

Fans are encouraged to stay in their seats after the Ninja A-League match and join thousands of fellow supporters as Australia takes on DPR Korea in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Quarter Final.
