Jets sign 18yo Wanderers winger with ‘huge potential’ on multi-year deal

Newcastle Jets have signed teenage winger India Breier on a two-season Ninja A-League contract.

The 18-year-old joins the Jets from Western Sydney Wanderers where she made six appearances in the 2023-24 campaign.

Breier, who spent the off-season with NSW NPL side Macarthur Rams, returns to the Ninja A-league after contributing to the Rams’ third-consecutive Grand Final triumph on September 6.

“I’m very excited to be joining the Newcastle Jets this season,” said Breier after signing her two-season deal.

“The club has such a great culture with a supportive fan base.

“The team did so well last season and I can’t wait to play alongside such a talented group of players and contribute to the team’s success.

“I really like the Jets’ style of play and am looking forward to playing under Ryan (Campbell) and developing my game.”

Breier is Newcastle’s third new recruit of the off-season after Bel Rolley and Danielle Krzyzaniak. Head coach Ryan Campbell is excited to watch the 18-year-old continue her development at the Jets.

“India is somebody who I had noticed last season playing in the NSW NPL and have kept a close eye on since. She has been involved with several of the underage Australian sides which demonstrates her huge potential.

“She is a left footed attacking player who has the ability to take on defenders which will add quality to our squad in an area that we need to add to.

“She seems very keen to get here to get started which is important for the culture and environment and I am looking forward to having her here.”
