Hyundai A-League Performers of the Week

It was another incredible weekend of football in the Hyundai A-League with some outstanding individual displays across the competition.

But which players stood out?

We’ve crunched the Opta Data to pick out the best performing players across the Hyundai A-League.

Based on a range of metrics provided by the Hyundai A-League’s official data provider, here are the standout players from the weekend’s action. 

GOALKEEPER

Tando Velaphi (Phoenix) – Made two saves and had a massive 34 touches as Wellington managed to hold out the Glory 2-1 on the weekend.

DEFENDERS

Daniel Georgievski (Jets) – Notched a game-high 76 touches and made three crucial clearances as the Jets drew 2-2 away against the Wanderers.

Andrew Durante (Phoenix) – Was instrumental in his side’s home win against Perth, making nine clearances and boasting a team-high passing rate of 86%.

Nigel Boogaard (Jets) – A vital member of the Jets’ defence, he made four clearances, a block and won four duels – all of which were aerial.

Jordan Elsey (United) – Made three clearances and two interceptions, completed 76% of his passes and managed two shots on target, including a goal.

MIDFIELDERS

Andrew Hoole (Mariners) – Contested a match-high 26 duels, completed three out of a possible five crosses, scored a goal and made three key passes.

Daniel Adlung (United) – Recorded an assist and completed all four crosses, as well as having three shots and making four key passes.

Sarpreet Singh (Phoenix) – Scored the opening goal of the game on his starting debut and created another goal-scoring chance in the match.

Andrew Nabbout (Jets) – Scored a stunning equaliser as the Jets twice came from behind to secure a point at Spotless Stadium. Also managed a joint game-high 19 duels.

ATTACKERS

George Blackwood (United) – Netted the equaliser and totalled 7 shots overall, as well as completing 79% of his passes and contesting 8 aerial duels.

Dimitri Petratos (Jets) – Managed one goal, one assist, five shots and four key passes in a fantastic all-round display against the Wanderers.
