There’s a logjam forming at the top of the Hyundai A-League goal-scoring charts, with Sydney FC’s Brazilian hitman joining three others in first place in the race for the golden boot.

7 goals: Roy O’Donovan (Newcastle Jets), Andrija Kaluderovic (Wellington Phoenix), Ross McCormack (Melbourne City FC), Bobô (Sydney FC)
Sydney FC star Bobo’s penalty against Melbourne City has ensured he’s now right in the running to be the competition’s leading scorer. The industrious number nine has been in strong goalscoring form for much of the campaign and is in hot form right now.
After his superb start to the season, Newcastle Jets marksman O’Donovan is hanging onto his spot at the top but a long injury layoff will give others around him a big chance to pull away.
Injury also appears to have halted McCormack’s charge after he picked up a knee problem in the loss to the Sky Blues last Friday night, while Phoenix’s Serbian striker Kaluderovic is also on seven after drawing a blank against the Glory.
6 goals: Andrew Nabbout (Newcastle Jets)
In O’Donovan’s absence, Nabbout has taken on the burden for the Jets and it was his 55th minute strike against the Reds on Saturday that has moved him to within one of top spot.
5 goals: Adrian Mierzejewski (Sydney FC), Dimitri Petratos (Newcastle Jets), Massimo Maccarone (Brisbane Roar FC)
Sydney FC’s ‘Polish magician’ struck again in their 3-1 win against City, with another expertly taken free-kick. Mierzejewski has an incredible record with the Sky Blues in League and Cup, winning every match he’s played in.
Jets star Dimitri Petratos converted a penalty late in the win over Adelaide to also edge closer to the leaders, while Roar’s Italian veteran Maccarone also hit his fifth of the campaign with a classy dinked finish against Victory on Sunday.
4 goals: Besart Berisha (Melbourne Victory), Oriol Riera (Western Sydney Wanderers FC)
There was no movement for Victory’s and the Wanderers’ leading strikers over the weekend.
While Berisha had the ball in the net against Brisbane, his 90th minute strike was disallowed after the VAR saw a clear handball in the lead-up.
In Fox Sports’ Spanish Round, Riera returned from injury off the bench for the Wanderers but didn’t really have a chance against a nine-man Mariners side.
