Hyundai A-League Golden Boot race off to a flyer!

The race for the Hyundai A-League Golden Boot has been energised by the arrival of some new and exciting strikers who are lighting up the competition.

An Irishman, Brazilian, Serbian, Aussies, Italian, Scot and Spaniard are jostling for top spot.

After four rounds, here’s how it stands.

5 goals: Roy O’Donovan (Jets)

Off the back of a sensational opening day hat-trick, the Irishman has relished the delivery he gets from Petratos and Nabbout (and Champness off the bench). And he’s been absolutely on fire.

Roy O'Donovan's header completed his hat-trick against his former club.

4 goals: Bobo (Sydney FC)

Clinical as ever, the Brazilian has scored from the penalty spot (though he’s missed one last weekend which would’ve had him on 5) and from open play with his usual poacher’s eye.
