How to watch Sydney FC v Wrexham AFC: Preview, team news, TV details

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS: Melbourne Victory 0-3 Wrexham AFC

Wrexham AFC’s tour of Australia and New Zealand continues on Tuesday night with a clash against Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium. Here’s everything you need to know.

After a comfortable 3-0 win over Melbourne Victory in front of over 37,000 at Marvel Stadium on Friday night, Wrexham AFC continue their tour down under with a clash against Ufuk Talay’s Sydney FC on Tuesday night.

The Welsh outfit got their tour off to a strong start thanks to goals from Thomas O’Connor, George Evans and new signing Ryan Hardie and will be keen to continue their momentum.

Of course, there was a touch of Hollywood at Marvel Stadium as Deadpool delivered the match ball – and it will be interesting to see what their second clash brings.

Wrexham take on a Sydney FC side who will be on a mission this term after an underwhelming season under Ufuk Talay saw them miss the Finals Series and fall just short of reaching the final of the AFC Champions League Two.

As their preparations for the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 begin, the Sky Blues begin a future without the likes of Patryk Klimala, Anas Ouahim, Andrew Redmayne, Adrian Segecic, Anthony Caceres, Max Burgess and Jaiden Kucharski who have all departed the club.

They have strengthened with the arrivals of Akol Akon and Rhys Youlley, who add youthful dynamism to the middle and final third, while the return of loanees Patrick Wood and Matthew Scarcella, and the promotion of Nick Alfaro, Tyler Williams and, most recently, striker Mathias Macallister bolster a squad perhaps still in need of reinforcements.

Don’t be fooled though, Sydney FC still have the fire power to take it to Wrexham.

Winger Joe Lolley has faced Wrexham before in his career, scoring twice for Kidderminster Harriers against the Red Dragons way back in 2013 in non-league football.

This is the second of three matches for Wrexham against Isuzu UTE A-League opposition; they’ll finish their tour in Wellington against the Phoenix on July 19.
