Sydney FC boss Steve Corica has no doubt Milos Ninkovic will go down as one of the Hyundai A-League’s greatest-ever players after the Serbian inked a new deal with the Sky Blues on Tuesday.
Ending weeks of speculation over his future, Ninkovic penned a two-year contract extension with the Sky Blues to tie him to the club until the end of the 2021/22 Season.
New Hyundai A-League franchise Macarthur FC were reportedly looking to lure the classy playmaker across town for their maiden campaign.
But Ninkovic, who turns 35 on Christmas Day, now looks certain to end his career with the Sky Blues.
“I never thought that I would leave this club (Sydney FC), but…on the other side know I have my family and I need to look after them,” Ninkovic told reporters on Tuesday.

“These four or five years have been unbelievable – probably the best in my career.
“With Sydney FC I always know that I will fight every year to win the trophies, and that’s probably was the reason that I stayed here.
“I really think that in the next two years we can win so many trophies.”
Ninkovic has been involved in a sustained period of success for Sydney FC since joining the club in 2015.

He has won two Championships, two Premierships and an FFA Cup title so far and has been one of the competition’s most consistent players in recent seasons.
“We couldn’t let him go, he’s one of the legends of the club,” Corica said.
“He’s been here five years, and is probably one of the best players to go around in the A-League.
“I’m pretty sure he’ll be at the club for the rest of his playing career and I think beyond that as well.”
Ninkovic is battling a calf injury which has him in doubt for this weekend’s trip to Wellington Phoenix.
