Macarthur FC have signed striker Harrison Sawyer from NPL Victoria club South Melbourne on a two-season Isuzu UTE A-League contract.
The 27-year-old makes his return to the Isuzu UTE A-League for the first time since 2016-17 when he made five appearances for Newcastle Jets.
Since his only campaign in the Australian top flight, Sawyer has won the Hong Kong Premier League at Tai Po Football Club as well as the NPLM VIC Premiership at South Melbourne in 2022 and 2024, and a pair of Golden Boots.
Sawyer signs for Macarthur after a 16-goal season at South Melbourne and his A-Leagues return comes amid South Melbourne’s deep Australia Cup run, in which he’s been a key contributor to the club’s surge to the semi-finals where South Melbourne will face his new side, Macarthur.

Sawyer scored the only goal in South Melbourne’s stunning 1-0 win over Wellington Phoenix in the Australia Cup Round of 32 but will be ineligible to represent the Bulls against his former side in the semi-final on Sunday, September 22 at Lakeside Stadium.
The new Bulls striker says signing for the club is “a privilege and an honour” and he’s eager to make the most of his Isuzu UTE A-League return.
“I’ve been trying really hard and trying to perform well in the NPL to get a move like this, so it feels like a reward for a lot of hard work,” Sawyer said.
“I want to try and win every game that we can, I’ve had a lot of success already this year with South Melbourne in the Victorian league, and I’m always eager to win and score goals.”
“Bulls fans can expect an aggressive and direct striker, I like to do damage in a box and also help the team get forward.”
