Glory deny Roar in four-goal shootout

Perth Glory remain in contention for the top four after clawing their way to a 2-2 draw with Brisbane Roar at nib Stadium on Saturday night.

Roar led twice in the first half only for Perth to claim a crucial point courtesy of equalising goals from Nebojsa Marinkovic and Adam Taggart.

The visitors struck first on the half hour when Jamie Maclaren beat Rhys Williams to the scraps of an aerial contest.

Nebojsa Marinkovic soon levelled with a deflected effort, before 17-year-old fullback Dane Ingham capped a rollicking first-half by restoring Roar’s lead on the stroke of half-time.

The goalmouth action continued immediately after the restart as Adam Taggart notched his 10 th  goal in 12 starts, tapping home a slick team move following Diego Castro’s defence-splitting backheel.

Maclaren should have made it 3-2 when he broke clean through for a one-on-one midway through the second half, but Liam Reddy stayed big to ensure Glory remain only two points shy of fourth-placed Roar.
