Western Sydney Wanderers have appointed Geoff Abrahams as head coach of the club’s Ninja A-League side after a successful interim period in charge.
Abrahams took the interim role in January following the departure of Robbie Hooker from the position.
As technical director of Western Sydney’s girls’ academy, Abrahams’ appointment strengthens the link between the Wanderers academy and the first team and, after overseeing three consecutive wins in February, he has produced a much-improved record since his appointment, collecting nine of the club’s 15 points this season to date.

Abrahams’ permanent deal is set to run until the end of the 2025-26 Ninja A-League season.
“I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity,” Abrahams said. “And even more so because it’s with the Wanderers – a club I know so well and a region I’m proud to be from.
“Western Sydney has a deep football culture, and I’ve seen first-hand how much passion there is for the game here. It’s an honour to lead this team and help shape the future of women’s football in our community.
“It’s also an exciting time with the growth of our Academy, which is creating clear pathways for young female footballers to develop and take the next step into professional football. We’re building something really special, and I’m looking forward to working with our young players, ensuring they have the opportunities and support to reach the highest level.
“Women’s football is growing at an incredible rate, and Western Sydney should be at the forefront of that movement. I’m excited to play a big role in helping move the game forward, developing our players, and ensuring the Wanderers continue to be a club that provides opportunities for female footballers to thrive.”
Western Sydney Wanderers CEO Scott Hudson praised Abrahams for his performance in the interim capacity, and expressed his excitement for the club’s future under his watch.
“Geoff has done an outstanding job in leading our Ninja A-League team and ensuring a strong connection with our Wanderers Girls Academy which launched this year,” said Hudson.
“His commitment to player development and his vision for women’s football aligns perfectly with our club’s long-term strategy.
“We are excited to see him continue to build on this foundation in the upcoming season.”
