Melbourne Victory have made their first move of the January transfer window, signing Bruno Fornaroli on a permanent basis.
Fornaroli initially joined Victory as an injury replacement player for centre-back Matthew Spiranovic after departing Perth Glory in October.
The Uruguayan-born Australian forward featured five times and scored one goal in that period, but since became eligible to sign on a permanent basis after the transfer window opened, while Spiranovic returned from injury.
“Bruno has been a quality addition to the squad over his injury replacement period and we’re looking forward to him becoming a great contributor now that he is with us permanently,” Melbourne Victory Director of Football John Didulica said.
Fornaroli said he’s looking forward to continuing his journey at the club, as he looks to help Victory back up the table heading into the second-half of the season.
“I’ve enjoyed my time at Victory so far and I’m excited to continue to give everything for the club and the fans,” Fornaroli said.
“Playing for Victory has made me realise how much this club means to the people of Melbourne and I am looking forward to representing our fans and Melbourne Victory moving forward.”
Victory currently sit bottom of the Isuzu UTE A-League table and take on Fornaroli’s former side Perth on Saturday night (AEDT) at Macedonia Park.
