Adelaide United legends reunite in match for Remembrance Round

A team of Adelaide United legends, such as Marcelo Carrusca, Travis Dodd and Cássio, will join forces once again in a special exhibition match for Remembrance Round.

A line-up of Reds greats, including a selection of 2008 Asian Champions League Finalists, will play an Australian Defence Force team ahead of Adelaide’s Hyundai A-League encounter against Perth Glory in honour of the upcoming Remembrance Round.

Fans will be able to watch their former superstars, coached by Aurelio Vidmar, grace the turf at Cooper’s Stadium on Sunday afternoon at 1.35pm before the current crop of players kick off at 5pm.

The squad will include many former stars spanning from the first half of the Hyundai A-League’s young history. Spectators will see those who were heavily involved in the famous run to the Asian Champions League Final in 2008, including 2016 Grand Final hero Carrusca.

With the squad boasting over 1,300 club appearances between them it’s an opportunity for the club to celebrate it’s past, alongside the most recent success of their FFA Cup victory over Sydney FC.

The club will also be auctioning off the commemorative playing kits Adelaide United will be wearing against Glory to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal.
