Sydney FC have signed accomplished English defender Faye Bryson ahead of the 2024-25 Ninja A-League Women season.
Bryson, 27, joins the Sky Blues after a stellar season at Central Coast Mariners.
The former FA Women’s Super League full-back represented the likes of Everton, Reading, and Bristol City in England and her arrival at Sydney FC bolsters the reigning Champions’ defensive stocks as Ante Juric’s side target a third-consecutive league title.
Bryson signed for the Sky Blues alongside 15-year-old defender Rubi Sullivan, who is set for her debut Ninja A-League campaign in 2024-25 while Sienna Saveska, a member of Sydney’s 2024 Grand Final squad, was confirmed as a departure from the club via the mutual termination of her contract.
With Young Matildas star Kirsty Fenton continuing her recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, Bryson is a pivotal acquisition for Sydney FC who is expected to slot in on the left side of defence in Fenton’s absence to begin the campaign.
“Faye is a fantastic signing for us and her experience in one of the world’s most competitive leagues will be invaluable,” said Sky Blues head coach Ante Juric.
“She’s a strong, committed defender who reads the game exceptionally well and can also contribute offensively with her ability to push forward.
“Faye’s versatility and leadership on the field will be a huge asset as we aim to defend our title this season.”

Meantime Juric thanked the departing Saveska for her services to the club, as the 17-year-old sets off in search of more playing time in 2024-25 after making four appearances in Sky Blue last season.
