He’s at his fourth Hyundai A-League club but earlier in his career Dario Vidosic also spent time playing in Germany’s Bundesliga.
The now-Wellington Phoenix playmaker has gone on to enjoy and fantastic career since making his professional career in the Hyundai A-League with Brisbane Roar back in 2006.
More than a decade on and the 30-year-old – who also has 23 caps for the Caltex Socceroos – is banging in the goals for Phoenix as he tries to get the Kiwi club moving up the ladder.
We caught up with Vidosic as part of our “Extra Time” series and spoke about his Bundesliga debut, footballing inspirations and taking on some of the world’s best in Germany.
“It’s hard to go past Bayern Munich. (Franck) Ribery and (Arjen) Robben both came on just to make it a bit easier for us,” Vidosic said.
“They were a very good team. Also Mesut Ozil when he was at Werder [Bremen], he was a very good player at the time.
“They’ve [Germany] had many good players as we’ve seen now and what they have been able to do with winning World Cups and European championships.”
