EXCLUSIVE: One on one with Brisbane Roar star Hayley Raso

She’s the rising star of Australian football, catching the eye with her amazing skills and trademark ribbon in her hair.

Hayley Raso has enjoyed a breakout 2017 for the Westfield Matildas and in the US and has now carried that on in the Westfield W-League with Brisbane Roar.

The 23-year-old has been a key figure in Roar’s surge to the top of the ladder after 8 rounds, including scoring a late goal in the 1-0 win over Adelaide United earlier in the campaign.

We sat down with Raso as part of our “One on One” series and spoke to her about everything from how she got her start in the Westfield W-League to playing against the likes of Jess Fishlock and the key to being a good player.

“No matter where you’re playing on the field, as long as you’re trying hard. Hard work is the key,” Raso said.

“Being positive and playing as a forward in my position, you want someone who is creating chances and hopefully can score goals.”
