The Hyundai A-League Finals Series began with two gripping Elimination Finals over the weekend that provided plenty of entertainment and late drama.
Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United were the two teams that remain alive after contrasting wins over Wellington Phoenix and Melbourne City respectively.
While Victory’s finals experience and class shone out over a brave Phoenix outfit, it took 120 absorbing minutes for the Reds to edge past City thanks to Ben Halloran’s late goal in extra-time.
