Adelaide United have announced the return of livewire young forward Emilia Makris (formerly Emilia Murray) to the club on a three-year deal.
The 20-year-old attacker began her career at the Reds in 2021-22, having arrived via the Football SA elite pathway. Makris made 29 appearances for Adelaide and scored her first goal against Sydney FC in 2023 at the age of 18.

Now, the Young Matildas regular is back in her hometown for a second stint after a one-season stay at Ninja A-League Premiers Melbourne City.
“I’m really excited to be back home,” Makris said.
“This is the club that gave me an opportunity as a youngster and I’m looking to repay that over the next few seasons.”
Makris is Adelaide’s third new signing ahead of the Ninja A-League 2025-26 campaign, having joined former Canberra United defender Holly Murray and ex-Newcastle Jets attacker Lara Gooch in signing for the club from a league rival.
Adelaide United head of football Marius Zanin says Makris has the potential to become a top-level talent at the club over the course of her three-year contract.
“We’re delighted to have Emilia return to Adelaide United,” Zanin said.
“She is a player with tremendous ability and maturity for her age, and we believe she has only scratched the surface of her potential.
“Emilia has already shown she can perform at the top level, and we’re excited to see her flourish once again in the Adelaide United family environment.”
