December’s Liberty A-League Coach of the Month nominees are in: pick your winner TODAY!

The nominees are IN – and now it’s your time to have your say on who takes out Coach of the Month honours for December in the Liberty A-League!

Australian Professional Leagues (APL) have partnered with Football Coaches Australia (FCA) for the second season running, to produce four monthly nominees for fans of the Liberty A-League to pick from as Coach of the Month.

This month’s nominees are…

Four coaches will be nominated monthly by the FCA panel, consisting of:

  • Catherine Cannuli
  • Sarah West
  • John Kosmina
  • Ian Greener
  • Gary Cole

Each member of the FCA panel votes for four coaches each month, granting four votes to their pick for Coach of the Month, three for their second-choice, two for their third and one for their fourth choice.

The FCA panel will also vote for Isuzu UTE A-League Coach of the Month on the same voting schedule.

Wellington Phoenix head coach Paul Temple took out the October/November Coach of the Month award, and is nominated once again for the December vote alongside Melbourne City’s Dario Vidosic, Perth Glory head coach Alex Epakis and Sydney FC’s Ante Juric.

Dario Vidosic – Melbourne City

Melbourne City enhanced their status as Liberty A-League frontrunners in December, losing just one of four games and rounding out the month with a high-scoring 5-3 triumph over Brisbane Roar.

A Melbourne Derby win over Melbourne Victory was the highlight of December for Vidosic’s side.

Alex Epakis – Perth Glory

Perth Glory experienced mixed results in December, but with one of two victories throughout the month coming against league-leaders City, head coach Alex Epakis will be confident about what his team can achieve moving forward this season.

Perth lost 1-0 to Western United after a 0-0 home draw against Sydney FC, then rounded out 2023 with a stirring road win over Central Coast Mariners on New Year’s Eve.

Ante Juric – Sydney FC

Sydney FC are in the midst of a six-game unbeaten streak which began in December with a 1-0 win over Newcastle Jets. The Sky Blues are grappling with a string of injuries to star players, and head coach Ante Juric has done well to keep his team on course and continue picking up points through a challenging period.

Sydney beat the Jets and Wellington in December, and drew with both Perth and Brisbane Roar.

Wellington have a strong foothold in the top six after a promising start to the season, with their form under Paul Temple rolling into December as the ‘Nix picked up a home win over Newcastle and a point against Victory in a 2-2 draw. Wellington lost twice in December against both Adelaide United and Sydney FC on the road.
