Brisbane Roar signing Chris Long says his arrival in the Isuzu UTE A-League has come at the perfect time in his career, with the English striker looking to make an instant impact at the club.
Long, 30, joined Brisbane from English League Two outfit Crewe Alexandra on a one-year deal in July. The Everton academy product touched down in Brisbane on Sunday, where he’ll join the Roar’s pre-season preparations under new head coach Michael Valkanis.

“This opportunity is massive for me – I can’t wait for it to get started,” Long said.
“I’m in my prime now. It’s the best I’ve ever felt with my body. The A-League’s got me at the right time.”
“The stadium’s incredible. I can’t wait to score loads of goals there,” Long added.
“Win football matches – that’s the plan.”
